Chemco H.N: AR/AP Financial Report Optimization
The financial reporting system was updated to ensure full compliance with new tax regulations. A system-wide expansion of Tax Invoice fields from 10 to 16 digits was performed across all tables, interactive apps, and batch reports. Additionally, proactive database tuning was conducted by re-indexing core Sales and Purchase Order tables to maintain high system stability and prevent performance lags for the finance team.
Tech Stack
Overview
This project focused on the large-scale optimization and structural maintenance of the JD Edwards AR/AP modules. The primary objective was to align the system with updated tax document standards and resolve critical performance bottlenecks in financial reporting, ensuring the finance team could operate with high data precision and system stability.
Challenges/Problems
- Incompatible Data Structures: The existing 10-digit format for tax invoices was no longer compliant with new regulations, leading to potential data errors and reporting issues.
Solutions
- Comprehensive Field Migration: A system-wide migration was carried out to update the Tax Invoice field size from 10 to 16 digits across all relevant database tables, applications, and UBEs.
- Strategic Re-Indexing: System performance was restored by re-indexing the
F4201/F4211andF4301/F4311tables, which significantly shortened the time required for financial closings.
Key Impact
- Regulatory Readiness: Guaranteed that the company met the mandatory 16-digit Tax Invoice standard without any operational downtime.
- System Reliability: Maintained optimal reporting speeds through proactive indexing, preventing potential performance lags before they could impact the finance team.
- Data Integrity: Ensured 100% consistency of tax document numbers across the entire AR/AP and Distribution modules.
